Onecom Communications finishes a strong year with ABM Voice, Data and IoT Managed Service win

Onecom ,

January 2019, UK: High Wycombe based cloud communications provider Onecom Communications, announces a strong finish to 2018 with yet another new enterprise customer win.

Following a stringent selection process against fierce competition, Onecom have successfully added leading global building maintenance and facility solutions provider ABM to its list of customers which already included ABM aviation subsidiary, Omniserv. Across the UK, ABM serve 1,500+ locations including 65 Shopping Centres, 400+ Commercial locations and 20+ Airports.

ABM have selected Onecom to provide all aspects of its mobile communications estate utilising the Vodafone network to provide voice and data functionality to the 5,500 strong UK workforce. The managed service from Onecom includes provision of all airtime, devices and 24x7 support, in addition to several thousand IoT connections deployed for ABM’s contract with TfL on the London Underground as part of TfL's work to improve public transport whilst reducing day-to-day operating costs and delivering the best possible value for money.

Onecom CEO, Martin Flick commented, “Having beaten strong competition to secure this opportunity, we are now managing the transition from previous incumbent EE, across to Vodafone, and by working closely with the ABM UK team we’re able to do so without any disruption or loss of service. ABM are now well placed to reap significant commercial rewards, reducing the cost of their mobile telephony by 25% and enjoying the improved operational and productivity benefits our managed service delivers, all whilst delivering an enhanced service to its users and customers alike.

The Onecom team have worked incredibly hard over the past six-months to win and manage the transition, whilst simultaneously closing out a raft of other new customer wins, along with some significant renewals.”

The ABM win follows on from other key new customer wins in partnership with Vodafone including Weatherby’s, Gama Aviation and Achilles - adding around 5,000 new connections to its customer base.

Flick concluded; “Our team have worked very hard to win market share in a competitive climate and are proud to be delivering a great customer experience throughout. These wins are testament to our partnership with Vodafone, which affords customers a compelling proposition with the quality and reassurance of a world-class leading network, complemented by a managed service wrap which is closely tailored to meet individual customer requirements. We are confident about 2019 despite the backdrop and uncertainty as Brexit looms.

UK PLC will need to be more responsive, more agile and demonstrate an appetite for flexibility and adaptability like never before. The market leading Vodafone proposition is perfectly suited to meet these demands, with high quality mobile including innovative 5G capability, fully integrated Unified Communications (UC) functionality and Software Defined (SD) Network evolution embedded into its core network. Add to this our joint IoT capability, and the Onecom Cloud Managed Service Platform (CMSP) benefits, and we have a market leading proposition that will enable customers to closely manage cost; a very practical benefit when taking into account the inevitably tough economic conditions ahead.”
