We are proud to announce that Onecom has won Best SME Mobile/IoT Customer Solution at the Comms Dealer National Awards 2025 for our collaboration with ResiSure and Vodafone Business.
The Comms National Awards are among the UK’s most respected technology and telecoms accolades, celebrating innovation and excellence across the channel. This recognition highlights Onecom’s continued leadership in delivering smart, scalable solutions that create meaningful impact for businesses.
This year’s award acknowledges a powerful collaboration that combines Onecom’s IoT expertise, ResiSure’s innovative sensor technology, and Vodafone’s NB-IoT connectivity to improve the safety, sustainability, and efficiency of rental housing across the UK.
Together, the partnership has developed a low-cost, plug-and-play IoT solution that enables landlords and property managers to monitor damp, mould, air quality, and heat loss in real time. The data allows early intervention, helping to prevent hazards before they escalate and ultimately creating safer homes for tenants whilst reducing costs for landlords.
With new housing legislation, such as the Renters’ Rights Bill and Awaab’s Law, introducing stricter requirements for housing safety and damp management, ResiSure’s system provides landlords with the tools and data needed to confidently stay compliant. The sensors also help validate retrofit work and monitor energy efficiency, supporting sustainability and reducing environmental impact.
Using Vodafone’s low-power NB-IoT network, ResiSure’s devices can operate for years on a single battery, even in areas with limited connectivity. Each device is activated by scanning a QR code, enabling setup to only take minutes - thereby removing any installation complexities and making large-scale deployment fast and cost-effective.
Onecom worked closely with ResiSure to tailor both the technical and commercial model to the company’s growth plans, creating a “pay as you grow” framework that ensures long-term scalability. This approach removes friction, streamlines billing, and allows ResiSure to focus on expansion. Around 26,000 devices are set to be deployed across social and private housing over the next three years.
Matt Whiting, CEO of ResiSure, said:
“We explored several providers and found Onecom gave us the best technology and service by a long way. Other providers just asked how many units we wanted - Onecom worked closely with us to understand our business and long-term plans, and helped us build a scalable, commercial pricing model. That deep understanding, and the NB-IoT technology, were the two magic ingredients that made this solution work. The solution is truly plug-and-play - we insert the SIM, power on the device, and it’s ready to go.”
The project is already delivering tangible results for housing providers across the country. Woodacre Homes, a letting agency in Newcastle, described the data-driven insights as invaluable:
“ResiSure has been a game-changer for our lettings portfolio. Their condensation and moisture monitoring equipment provides crucial insights into the conditions within our properties. The easy-to-read graphs allow us to quickly identify potential issues, whether they stem from the property itself or the tenant’s living habits. This proactive approach helps us address and resolve problems before they escalate, ensuring a healthier living environment for our tenants and protecting the integrity of our properties.”
- Andrew Garthwaite, Office Manager, Woodacre Homes
The measurable outcomes are clear: reduced repair costs, streamlined compliance, and improved energy efficiency for housing. Onecom’s IoT solution is helping landlords achieve higher standards of tenant care while driving operational savings.
Darren Ridge, CEO of Onecom Group, commented:
“We’re incredibly proud to be recognised at this year’s Comms National Awards. Our partnership with ResiSure and Vodafone Business demonstrates how IoT can make a real difference - protecting tenants, supporting landlords, and driving sustainability. This award is a testament to the hard work of our teams and the strength of collaboration between our partners and customers.”
This achievement reinforces our position as a leading innovator in IoT and managed connectivity. By aligning technology, customer insight, and partnership, we aim to deliver solutions that not only transform how organisations operate, but also create lasting, positive impacts in the communities we serve.
