Following three years of significant investment and the award of multiple Cloud Managed Service Platform (CMSP) wins, the UK’s leading total communications provider, Onecom Communications, plans to evolve its support model in response to an upward trend of increasing revenue from Cloud and Unified Comms (UC).
High Wycombe based Onecom, has evolved dramatically in the past 3 years, developing from one of Vodafone’s largest Platinum Partners with great heritage in providing support to over 110,000 business mobile customers into a fully-fledged market leading Cloud and UC provider. Having re-invested profits for the past 3 years, in addition to a £10m investment from BGF, Onecom are now set to reap the rewards, leading on from a 100% increase in Cloud and UC revenues last year, and a pipeline to support continued exponential growth in this area.
By working closely with strategic partners like Vodafone, Mitel, Gamma and Virtual1, Onecom have already secured non-mobile converged Cloud based UC contracts of more than £25m of future recurring revenue, providing business critical solutions to organisations such as; Admin Re, Scania, Bibby Financial Services and DS Smith to name just a few.
“Customer demand for our Cloud Managed Service Platform is increasing, affording huge customer benefits including; commercial flexibility, agile scalability and fully integrated functionality across fixed, mobile and applications without the need for significant Capex Investment. Given the uncertainty posed by Brexit, customers increasingly want scalability but without commitment, in order to react accordingly to emerging opportunities and unforeseeable challenges within the economy.
We’ve been working for the past two years on an exclusive Joint Initiative with our most strategic partner Vodafone, creating a blueprint for the future. This initiative now concludes with the advent of the Total Communications Partner program which goes live next month to the whole channel. Similarly, we’ve also been working in tandem with Mitel to develop a UCaaS strategy for Enterprise in the UK which has kept Onecom at the forefront of shaping industry thinking and this proposition is now being expanded to Onecom’s ‘Global Cloud’, in partnership with major global providers.
Having been heavily involved in developing these strategies with our key partners and investing in expertise, infrastructure and capability we have enhanced Onecom’s Cloud based UC proposition and now our aim is to maximise the proven opportunity we have created. As a result, our plan now is to further evolve in order to scale our support capability for a strong growth phase”.

The developments Flick refers to include; significant investments and enhancement of systems, business processes and the expansion of the managed service team and CMSP delivery teams. This will be underpinned with increased headcount in support functions, account management and the converged sales team.
Further changes include relocation of the desk based SMB team from Hatfield to the state of the art HQ in High Wycombe, enabling greater capability and team integration. Onecom’s Hatfield office will continue to accommodate Onecom’s SaaS development and support function, and sales hot desks.
